The Ultimate Rail Launcher
We modified our heavy-duty rail launcher into a trailer launcher, built by Kevin
Baxter. The rail is 50 feet long, and breaks down into three pieces. It has an onboard generator,
water tank, and hydraulic ram for raising the rail. There are camera mounts and lights for night
work. The launcher sets up easily in fifteen minutes. It has successfully launched rockets weighing
500 lbs. with 3,500 lbs. of thrust.
The trailer packed and ready for transport to the launch site.
The launcher with a rocket on the rail ready to be raised.
The launcher fully upright, with a rocket ready to launch.
This rocket is built by John Garvey of the Reaction Research Society. The rocket is named Kimbo
III. It is powered by alcohol and liquid oxygen and produces 500 lbs. of thrust.
